I paint the ever-changing life around me and look for aesthetics in harsh realities. The straightforward realism that most often serves as a starting point in my work is altered and colored by varying mindscapes during the process. Essential subjects in my works are society and environment, and my recent works particularily focus on the relationships between humans and animals. Through my paintings I praise the beauty of the surrounding life, while simultaniously mourning its inevitable transience. I strive to concretize thoughts and feelings that are difficult to put into words — the powerlessness of the individual, the shame in our inevitably unethical consumption and the shamelessness of the market economy. In art in general, I value above all its potential for activism.
